We continue social contribution, which only Mitsui Group can deliver as a member of the society. We are committed that our initiatives for social contribution lead to a development of the local communities as well as a development of our Group.
Structure of initiatives
The headquarters’ General Affairs Department take initiatives in social contribution.
The department sets the Group’s priorities for social contribution and formulates a three-year plan. The plan is distributed to general affairs departments at each site. At each site, action plan is established by each fiscal year. The department in the HQ roles a PDCA cycle: gathers and reviews the results of social contribution in the previous fiscal year from each site, and improves three-year plan. We disclose the information about social contribution for our stakeholders on our website, and share them with our employees through the Group’s newsletters and intranet.
Our priorities for social contribution
We have identified “Research & Education,” “Environmental Conservation,” “Culture & Tradition” and “Disaster support” as priority areas of social contribution. We participate in various activities including hosting site visits and internships, community clean-up activities, and participation in local cultural events. We also provide disaster supports along with local needs such as dispatches of employee volunteers and donations.
