Mitsui Kinzoku Company, Limited (President : IKENOBU Seiji ; “the Company”) announces that it has decided to supply its proprietary solid electrolyte, A-SOLiD™, for use in all-solid-state batteries being developed by a major customer targeting practical application in 2027–28.
All-solid-state batteries are regarded as next-generation energy storage devices, featuring high safety and energy density, with strong expectations for application across a wide range of fields including battery electric vehicles (BEV). Solid electrolyte is one of the key materials that critically determine battery performance.
A-SOLiD™ is a solid electrolyte developed by Mitsui Kinzoku based on decades of expertise in battery material technology, and is marked by high lithium-ion conductivity and excellent electrochemical stability. The decision to supply A-SOLiD™ reflects an evaluation by the customer that recognized the superior performance of Mitsui Kinzoku’s material through its development and assessment process. In parallel, Mitsui Kinzoku will continue research and development aimed at further improving performance with a view toward future requirements.
Mitsui Kinzoku has consistently advanced initiatives from research and development to the establishment of mass production technologies in support of the commercialization of all-solid-state batteries. Mitsui Kinzoku will continue to collaborate closely with partners including automotive manufacturers and battery producers contributing to the social implementation of all-solid-state batteries.
