Elementary school visit by Perlite Division staff

Giving lectures on Perlite

Members of the Perlite Division and partner company, Daiichi Kogyo, visit Kami city municipal Koshiro elementary school in Mikata county, Hyogo prefecture every year from 2013. The lecture is held for fifth graders as part of a program called “Homeland study meeting”. They explain about Perlite, product of Ojiro district.
They tell the students that there are only seven perlite mines in Japan, and that it is useful in daily life. In addition to classroom talks, the program includes a visit to the quarry, where students observe the dynamic crushing work. They conduct an experiment to heat perlite ore by gas burners and confirm the foamability of perlite.
